At Bar TT Cowhorse, we strive to provide our horses and our clients with the training they need to reach their full potential. Whether you are just getting started in Working Cow Horse and are looking for lessons, or you are seeking serious training for your young horse, we can get you to your dream.

We have partnered with Massimo Garlanda Performance Horses. This young man has shown incredible talent, drive and ambition during his short time in Canada. He arrived with a dream to become a world class Cow Horse trainer – and he’s well on his way. With soft hands and a big heart, he gives the horse clear direction, the teaching release and time to think. He appreciates that each horse is unique and progresses when they are ready for more. Massimo will keep you up to date and be honest about your horses’ future. Not all horses can be Cow Horse Futurity Champions. Some need a little more time to mature and others may be looking for a different job. If Cow Horse is not their discipline, he will try them roping, ranching and as turn back until they find their spot, where they are happy performing for their rider.

Massimo has shown successfully in the Alberta clubs (ARCHA, ASHA) but also in Kalispell, MT, Las Vegas, NV and Fort Worth, TX. He’s won or placed in tough competition on several different horses, owned and client horses, stallions, geldings and mares. If your horse has the talent, Massimo has the experience to take them to the very top competition on the continent.

Cow Horse training has many stages. Massimo has started a number of young colts for us and has picked up and continued training on others. He has hauled horses from Alberta to Arizona and Texas for competition. He has spent winters in Arizona training and showing but now calls Alberta his permanent home. With a leased indoor facility, he is able to train everyday in relative comfort for both himself and the horses. With indoor stalls and outdoor pens, horses and clients can choose their preferred living conditions without compromising on a quick rinse off and ample time to dry inside.

Massimo carefully observes each horse and provides personalized care from routine treatment for ‘scratches’, vaccines and dewormers to BEMER treatment, liniment rubs, cooling wraps or clay. He is proficient at administering pain relief when needed and other medications when indicated. This talented young horseman develops a personal relationship with each horse and learns what they need to perform at their best – a firm leg or a gentle hand. He is quick to spot any degree of attitude or movement that indicates soreness or injury and provides appropriate treatment. Any unresolved concerns are referred to our trusted veterinarians at Pioneer Veterinary Services.

Choosing a trainer for your horse is complicated. You want to be close enough to visit, friendly enough to call for an update, personal enough to always know the truth about what’s going on and still deliver the training they need.
